If you are looking for a place to “spend the night” while on a road trip, don’t bother with a reservation at Alisal Guest Ranch and Resort. Whoa! Did we actually suggest that we may not be the place for a potential guest? Yes, we did. The reality is this: if one is looking for a hotel room for a night, Alisal’s rooms (which generally have a 2 night minimum year-round, may not even be available and are often sold-out year round because they are booked for weeks on end for returning guests), may seem outrageously pricey at first glance. But when one understands that a “stay” at Alisal is actually an experience that requires the visitor to take advantage of all that is included in that nightly rate, suddenly, one realizes that the Alisal Guest Ranch and Resort is not a “hotel”. It is a legendary experience worthy of taking the time to feel.
You see, one really needs 2-3 nights to truly savor all the opportunities offered and unplug. When Alisal is enjoyed under its ideal circumstances and original intent, the nightly rate suddenly feels like incredible value.
While there are varying packages (check the Website regularly for updated special offers and specialty packages) for Alisal , even the most basic package includes our Trail Ride Cowboy Breakfast (hay truck transportation for those who prefer not to horseback ride) at sunrise, access to a number of complimentary activities and amenities, as well as the popular and traditional Alisal ranch dinner in the dining room with portions so generous, you may be bringing leftovers back to your room. In addition to all of this is your cozy overnight room with wood-burning fireplace, and all the peace and quiet you can enjoy with nothing but the stars overhead and maybe the sound of a coyote in the distance (if you are lucky).
While there are many activities to enjoy off-property in our beautiful Santa Ynez Valley, including world-class wineries, museums, and more, most guests choose to stay right at the ranch to enjoy all it has to offer. When viewed in the light of a vacation experience, a one night’s stay on a road trip as a place to simply “spend the night” is not enough. One certainly will not be able to get the return of their initial investment – which at Alisal Guest Ranch and Resort, is an investment in well-being and memory-making to last a lifetime.
