Sip and Savor Santa Barbara Wine Country
At Alisal, you are in the heart of Santa Barbara Country–one of the
best wine-producing regions in the country, with over 100 different wineries. The county’s varied microclimates and soils, as well as its unique geography, provide ideal growing conditions for many types of grapes—from the beloved Chardonnays, Pinot Noirs, and Syrahs to unique varietals like Albariño and Grenache Blanc. Alisal is perfectly situated so that our guests can visit a wide variety of nearby wineries. We also offer an extensive wine list that focuses primarily on wines from Santa Barbara County and Central California, so you can have a taste at the Alisal before you venture out. We’re happy to help you plan a picnic and a day spent wine tasting at some of our favorite vineyards, including:
A Mediterranean-style estate winery in nearby Lompoc that produces Pinot Noir, Syrah, Chardonnay, and Viognier from grapes grown in its vineyards. The tasting room is open daily and the beautiful setting is also perfect for picnics.
Tom Beckmen’s 365 acres (which are all biodynamically farmed) are perfectly situated to produce fantastic Rhone varietals. Guests can get a taste for themselves at Beckmen’s Los Olivos tasting room.
Located between Solvang and Los Olivos in Ballard Canyon, Rusack meticulously farms its grapes in small lots, which extends the winemaking process, and creates exceptional Sauvingon Blanc, Chardonnay, Rose, Pinot Noir, Sangiovese, Syrah, and more.
Syrahs are king here, along with a variety of other wines. Located in nearby Los Olivos,
Stolpman wines are 100% estate grown.
Star Lane Vineyards
Star Lane harvests fruit from three vineyards in the County to produce Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, Sauvingon Blanc, Pinot Noir, and Syrah. The tasting room allows visitors to get a taste of all of them.
Established in 1982, Longoria is a small, family-owned winery with a tasting room in Los Olivos as well as at the winery itself, in Lompoc. Longoria wines encompass red, white, and pink wines, as well as dessert wines and Spanish varietals.
Flying Goat Cellars
“Pinot and sparkling wine without pretense” is what Flying Goat says about itself, and guests at their Lompoc tasting room have a chance to taste what makes their specialties so unique.
