Dining At Alisal
Modern is good, but at Alisal we believe there are some things that just shouldn’t change—like including breakfast and dinner in your room rate. We call it a Modified American Plan. You’ll call it delicious.
As guests at Alisal, you are assigned a particular dining room table at the beginning of your stay. (In many cases, this is the same table guests have occupied during their previous visit.) Since Alisal does not “turn” its tables during meal periods, guests are free to come in any time within the published hours of service.
Breakfast
Breakfast is served in the Ranch Room 7:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m. daily
We offer guests an extensive à la carte menu, as well as a full breakfast buffet, brimming with fresh fruit, homemade cinnamon rolls, and your favorite morning entrées.
Lunch
Guests can choose from any of four restaurants for lunch
The Ranch Room is open from 12:00 p.m.-1:30 p.m. (excluding summer, holidays, and periodic weekends) and serves a limited menu. The poolside Chuckwagon Grill is open during summer, holidays, and select weekends from 11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. The Ranch and River Golf Courses have their own open-to-the-public restaurants that feature extensive lunch menus and serve from 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. daily. You can also order a boxed lunch to be delivered to you at Alisal Lake.
Please note: lunch is not included in the Modified American Plan.
Dinner
Dinner is served in the Ranch Room nightly from 6:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m. (9:00 p.m. on Fridays)
Dinner is a fine-dining event at which Chef Pascal pulls out all the stops with thick steaks grilled over local oak, juicy chicken, and the best sustainable seafood, as well as entrées featuring vegetables and herbs grown here on property or picked nearby. We are happy to adjust the preparation of any item that is offered on that day’s menu in order to accommodate a special request (for dietary purposes or because a guest prefers a different method of preparation).
Please note: During dinner hours, gentlemen, 16 years of age and older, are required to wear dinner jackets (ties are optional). Ladies and children are asked to dress as if they are going to a finer restaurant.
Appetizers, Drinks, Entertainment
Before or after dinner, drop by and visit the Oak Room, open daily 5:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m.
Located adjacent to the Ranch Room, the Oak Room serves complimentary appetizers before dinner and a full selection of cocktails, wine, and beer. There is nightly live entertainment beginning at 6:30 p.m. The Oak Room is for adults only after 9:00 p.m. The Waggin’ Tongue Lounge near the pool is open from 11:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. daily during summer and holidays.
Special Dinners and Barbecues
During the summer season, guests are also treated to three weekly outdoor events: a seafood barbecue served at Alisal Lake on Monday nights, a Southwestern-style barbecue served at the Rodeo Arena on Wednesday nights, and our traditional western barbecue served on the lawn adjacent to the pool on Saturday nights. The Monday and Wednesday affairs are optional, as the Ranch Dining Room is also open to guests.
