Allyson & Darren’s Alisal Wedding Story

imageWhen a bride and groom book Alisal Guest Ranch and Resort for their wedding, it is nothing short of an “experience”.  Because the ranch generally requires an entire property “buy-out”, the legendary hospitality for which Alisal is known achieves new heights , as wedding guests themselves are the recipients of extra-personalized service so the ranch and their staff on every level, in every position,  can focus on pampering them and making the wedding a personalized experience for the bride, groom and their families alike.

imageFew are aware that Alisal Guest Ranch and Resort has many locations from which to choose for memorable backdrops for exchanging vows.  Most choose to take advantage of the beauty of  each of them in some capacity.

Allyson and Darren chose to exchange vows in the peaceful shady area at Creekside Lawn.  Immediately following the ceremony, guests were offered tray-passed signature cocktails as they boarded the Alisal hay wagons for the scenic drive to the reception site, the historic Old Adobe, where they were greeted with tray-passed appetizers and a decadent fruit and cheese display.  Chef Pascal and his team designed a menu that was a blend of upscale classic California/European cuisine and delicious, hearty ranch fare.

imageThe Menu: Hors D’oeuvres: Seared Ahi Tuna with Wasabi Cream on Wonton; Buffalo Mozzarella with Basil Pesto on Crostini; Wild Mushroom, Leek Turnovers; Potato, Cumin and Green Pea Samosas | Modified Family Style (a combination of individually-presented plates and “family style” platters offered to guests): First Course (plated): Arugula & Frisee Salad, Honey Goat Cheese Crostini, Heirloom Tomatoes and Toasted Pine Nuts with French Tarragon Vinaigrette;  Second Course: Grilled Seabass served with CousCous Tabbouleh, Lemon – Basil Sauce; Third Course: Grilled Black Angus Beef Tenderloin with Garlic & Black Pepper, Grilled Free Range Chicken Breast Seasoned with Special Alisal Spice Blend, Roasted Root Vegetables & Brussel Sprouts;  Potato Gratin with Jack Cheese, Bordelaise Sauce.    Dessert:  Individual Blackberry Crisp Served with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream.   Late Night Snack & Treat:  S’mores in front of campfire

Special Touches: Long picnic benches for dining tables with no linensimage on top.  The centerpieces and candles adorned the tables | Specialty ambient lighting uplighting the architecture and nearby trees as well as twinkle lights cascading from the canopy of trees over the event | A long, narrow rectangular dance floor to allow for the best seating plan for the guest size and VIP needs | Late night s’mores around the Old Adobe campfire
