What is your title at Alisal and what do you do?
I have been the Tennis Director at Alisal Guest Ranch for the past 33 years… and counting! I arrange tennis activities for resort guests and members, and run a fully stocked pro shop on the property. I also captain USTA league teams and interclub teams.
How did you get into the tennis world?
I started playing tennis in college, and got a business degree, so things just fell into place.
What do you love most about what you do?
Seeing new faces and personalities on a regular basis and watching folks have fun and improve their games.
What is your top recommendation you think Alisal guests should try while staying here?
Certainly the “dude ranch” activities are the biggest attraction… and rightly so. The “breakfast ride” is not to be missed.
Where were you born and raised?
Born in Columbus, Ohio and raised in the Santa Barbara area.
Where has been your favorite place to live?
Santa Ynez Valley, CA
Where have you traveled to that you simply must return to?
Northern Italy
What are your hobbies? What do you love to do most when not working for Alisal?
Well, I like to play basketball with friends every Mon-Wed-Fri at 6:30-7:30am. We get 10-15 players every day, then on weekends I play some small tournaments in the Santa Barbara area.
What makes you feel most alive?
Watching my son play college tennis at U.C.S.B. He is in his last year, so it will be fun!!
What is your favorite food?
German and Italian food!!!!
